Operational Management

Get ready to operate

ARIS offers professional and reliable expertise in operational management in high-risk environments. Our operation teams perform logistics support, R&D project management and Ice Management separately or as one integrated service.

We help you design the proper overall setup for safe and cost-efficient onshore and offshore operations. With experienced consultants we support valuable decision making procedures that minimise environmental induced surprises in operations and optimise effectivity and ROI of your investment. ARIS offers specialised capabilities and experiences in developing specific IT tools to support complex operations.

We have a scientific and practical approach to new exploration areas and we offer you high-quality statistical investigation of unknown environments before entering the area. We always operate in consideration of the surrounding environment and climate which helps you avoid NGO claims when operating in natural resource areas.

Operational management with ARIS includes a broad spectrum of services as ice team coordination, ice observation and charting, emergency support, reporting, ice & Met.Ocean data plus onshore logistics support. We perform long-term forecasts of expected environmental elements as ice, weather and oceanographic parameters – as desk top studies. And we recommend the proper number of radars with the right classes/capabilities, ships and manpower. We collect data and documentation and perform statistical analysis leading to knowledge of specific environments. Moreover, we have years of hand-on experience with crew training, skill development and teambuilding. And we practise pre- and post-operation preparations covering tasks as:

  1. Break Up and Freeze Up forecasts
  2. Monthly averaged ice concentration maps
  3. Ice concentration tables and ‘drill downs’ (Greenlandic waters)

During operation:

  1. On-board/offshore and onshore personnel as senior/junior ice-advisors, -observers, -analysers etc.
  2. Ice-charting and iceberg-monitoring
  3. Annotated quick-looks with focus on fast ice development and retreat from areas of interest
  4. Iceberg density charts/annotated quick-look focus on iceberg concentration development
  5. NRT, Near Real Time iceberg charts – individual Iceberg monitoring
  6. Daily overview of iceberg charts – ice specialist analysed observations

Post operation:

  1. Reporting – agreement established in the IM-plan
  2. Lessons learned and recommendations
  3. Products are based on deliverance of data from subcontractors like DMI etc.
  4. Satellite planning and surveillance
  5. Ocean and weather model output
  6. Offshore weather forecasts, and enroute planning
